Things that I enjoyed/learned on the Field Trip to Charleston:

1. One of the things that I enjoyed on the Field Trip were going into the submarine and learning how life was on it.
2. One thing that I learned was that pelicans become blind after a certain amount of time because their eyes hit the water when they are searching for fish because they keep them open and when they become blind they have trouble searching for food so they die of starvation.
3. Another thing I learned was that clams are a male at young age and a female at an older age.

Things that were on the Field Trip that we learned in class:

1. One of the things that I remembered learning in class were when the instructors talked about biotic and abiotic.
2. Also I remembered when they were talking about estuaries we also learned that in class.

Today in class we started reading a book called Heat by Mike Lupica. A boy named Ramon stole a hulk-green purse and got caught by the police. But before that while he was running across the baseball field he saw another boy named Micheal who threw a baseball that hit him in the head and knocked him out. When Poppy, his dad, came and saw Micheal throwing the ball everyone kept telling him how great of a baseball player he was.

In this part in the book Micheal tells what really happens in the book and we found out that his grandfather has been dead ever since May but he won't tell anyone because he thinks that the police will take him away from their home. Micheal tells Carlos that when he turns 18 he will be old enough and they will go to visit their family.

In this part the girl came back and her and Michael played a game of catch. Then Manny came and they started playing a baseball game and the girl strikes out Michael.

Today in the book Mr. Lima asked Michael, Carlos, Mrs. Cora, and Poppie to do a news report about Michael getting Mrs. Cora's purse back from Ramon the purse stealer.

Today in the book Manny found out that the girl that shows up at the baseball games named Elle is El Grande's daughter and he told Michael.

Today in the book Mr.Gibbs talks to Michael about his dad and where he lived and everything and Michael tells all of these lies. And next Mr.Gibbs asks about Michael's uncle and Michael lies about that to but Mr.Gibbs says he wants to meet him. Then Michael tells Carlos and Manny about it and Manny says he has an uncle named Uncle Timo and that he is a really good actor. So the next day they meet Uncle Timo and show him pictures of their dad and other stuff.

 In this part of the book Michael sees Elle and he confronts her about him knowing that she is El Grande's daughter and Elle gets mad and walks away. Then Michael goes to Mrs. Cora's apartment and they talk about it.

1. Define mixture and solution. A mixture is when two or more substances are combined. A solution is when two or more substances are combined but the solvent dissolves.
2. Are all mixtures solutions? Are all solutions mixtures? A mixture is not a solution but a solution is a mixture.
3. Define solute and solvent. Give examples of each- besides salt.                                       Not finished

5. Explain what it means when we say a solution is saturated. It means that when you put in a certain amount of solvent then no more can dissolve into the solute.
6. How do we know that a solution is saturated? No more of the solvent will not dissolve into the solute.

The other day I started a book called Joey Pigza Loses Control and it is a series to Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key. In this book Joey's mom takes Joey to his father's house where he stays with him for a while. On the way there they were on a bumpy road and Joey kept telling his mom to stop going in the holes because Pablo is car sick but Joey's mom didn't listen and she wasn't in such a good mood either. So when they go over a giant bump Pablo flies into the air and does his business all over the radio. Joey's mom gets so mad that she yells at Joey and tells him to clean up the mess. Joey gets tissues and washes the radio and stuffs Pablo into the glove box. Then Pablo falls asleep and no noise was heard. But I'm guessing you readers are wondering why he is going to his dad's house so here it goes.

Joey's mom had left for work and Joey was left home with a trumpet that his mom had given him. Joey learns a few notes on that and then finds an old box with darts in it. Joey went and got his stuffed animals so he could shoots the darts at them. So he starts and spins around and throws them and he keeps making the shots until one time he throw one and hears Pablo's whimper. Pablo starts running around and Joey corners him in a corner. The dart had gone through Pablo's ear so he takes him to his mom's work and his mom bandages it up. To find out more you will have to read the book so hope you enjoyed it.

We started a new book in class the other day called Star Girl. In this book there is a girl that starts school at a new school and everyone calls her Stargirl. Stargirl has a ukulele and she will play the ukulele and sing happy birthday to someone everyday. Everyone thought that Stargirl was weird because of that too. The two main characters are Leo and Kevin and they have a tv show called Hot Seat. Hot seat is a show where they interview high schoolers and so Kevin thought that Stargirl would be perfect for the part. Kevin tells Leo to sign her up for the show and if he doesn't then Kevin will. So one day Leo decides to follow her one day and she walked forever until they got to the interstate she passed the interstate and kept going. Still Leo follow until he suddenly heard a noise and he turned back and went home.

Today in the book Hilary a school bully was found holding cinnamon(Stargirl's rat) in the air, upside down, and on the very top step. Everyone thought that Hilary was going to drop it to the bottom step but she didn't she dropped it right beside her feet. Next Stargirl was seen at a football game cheering with the cheer leaders but when the other cheer leaders stopped to take a break Stargirl still danced about everywhere. People were yelling at her to get down when she started to climb the pole and walked across the wire like a tight rope. Then Stargirl went to a funeral that she didn't even know the person at and was sent away during the after party. Also it was said that a little boy found a bike that none of his family had bought the next day the bike was sent to the garbage disposal. Both of the stories seemed weird to the school but all of the students had an idea of who was envolved in it.
