Expiramental Design

The question is will flowers grow faster if they get more water. Now the hypathis is if you give flowers more water they will grow faster. The controlled variable is the light and the fertilizer. The independent variable is the amount of water. The dependent variable is the flowers growing faster. That is my expiramental design.

5th Grade Field Trip

Last Friday we went to Patriot's Point in Charleston. We went on the charter buses and they were awesome! The chairs leaned back, there were footrests, there were blinds for the windows, there was a bathroom, and there were t.v.'s so we watched movies on the way there and on the way back. Well it was raining when we got there. So we had to stay under the shelter for a couple of minutes. Then we went on the S.S. Yorktown (aircraft carrier). We learned that when a bunch of plankton connects together it creates a man-o-war. Also that a oyster is a boy when it is little and a girl when it is older. They talked about biotic and abiotic factors which we already talked about in school. We also learned about the history of the ship and went on the flight deck and learned about the planes and all. Then we went in the submarine. That thing was hot as anything inside. Really interesting but so hot. That was basiclly the only thing I did not like. So that's all about my field trip.

Grade Level of Mixtures and Solutions

1. To summarize the characteristics of a mixture and recognizing how a solution is a kind of mixture I feel like I'm at a 3.0, because I completely know what it is and I get it.

2. Using filtration, sifting, magnetic attraction, evaporation, chromatography, and flotation to separate mixtures I'm at a 2.8 because I don't understand chromatography and flotation I don't get how you would use that.

3. How solute and the solvent effect the concentration I differently know that so I would be 3.5 on that one.

4. Explaining how temperature change, particle size, and stirring effect the rate of the dissolving I would say 3.0 for me on that one.

Heat's Message

It turns out that Heat has a message to it. The author's message is probably never give up. The reason why is because Micheal and his team are trying to get to Williamsport to the little league world series. Even if they lose a game they still try to go to Williamsport.

End of Stargirl

Well, Stargirl is over and at the end Leo chooses the affection of the school than Stargirl. I think he made a bad choice, because it may had been the reason why she left. I mean who cares if the Myca High kids aren't talking to him. Anyways that's the end of the book that is Stargirl by: Jerry Spinelli.

Mixtures and Solutions

A mixture is is two or more substances mixed together. A solution is two or more substances that are mixed together and one of tghe substances dissolves. Not all mixtures are solutions, but solutions are mixtures because a solution is a kind of mixture the reason why is because you are mixing two subtances together.

When a solution is saturated it means that it is dissolved completly. You know when it is saturated when you only see one substances.

Stargirl

Once again we read more of Stargirl today. This time Stargirl went to her first football game as a cheerleader and got chased bunches of referees. Then she went a funeral for a girl's grandfather, the girl's mother invited family over to her house for lunch, and the girl's mother kicked her out. Then this boy broke his leg on his bike and got a blood clot and so had to go to the hospital. At welcome back party Stargirl was and she brought a brand new bike with her. Soon the bike was in the trash because they couldn't find out who bought it.

Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key

We read more of Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key again. What happened was that he had a string tied to his neck with his house key on it and he would put the key down his throat and pull it back up. Well the teacher cut the the sstring that the key was on and put the key in his shirt pocket. Well the person sitting next to saidthat he would give Joey a dollar to swallow his key again. Joey forgot the string wasn't on the key, so he swallowed the key and swallowed the key he starts screaming and went to the nurse.
