Goemetry Notes - Chapter 23 Lesson 1

  • Point- Point marks an excat location in space. Use a letter to name a point.
  • Line - A line is an endless stright path. It has no endpoints. Use two points on the line to name the line.
The line name is Line A G.
  • Line Segment - A line segment is part of a line between two endpoints. Use the two endpoints to name the line segment. Line segment A G.
  • Ray - A ray is is a part of a line that has one endpoint and goes on forever in one direction. Use and endpoint and one theother point on the ray to name a ray. Ray G A
  • Plane - A plane is and endless flat surface. Use three points that are not on a line to name the plane. Plane F G H.
  • Angle - An angle is formed by two rays with the same endpoint. An angle can be named by three latters - a point from each side and the vertex as the middle letter. It can also be named by a single lettter, its vertex. Angle G F H.
  • Right angle - A right angle measures 90˚.
  • Acute Angle - An acute angle is greater than 0 and less than 90˚.

  • Obtuse Angle - An obtuse angle is greater than 90 and less than 180˚
  • Stright Angle - A stright angle measures 180˚.
  • Intersecting line - Intersecting line are lines that cross at one point.
  • Parallel line - parallel lines are line a plane that never intersect and are the same distance apart at every point.
  • Perpendicular lines - Perpendicular linnes are lines that intersect to from four right angles.

Deal or No Deal

Deal or NO Deal was a very interesting game to play in class. I learned a lot from the game. First I learned division. I used division for the banker in this game, then i counted up the cases left and i got the sum of the cases and then i divided the sum of the cases left. For the caculation i used a caculatior for the whole thing to help me with the game. Another skill I used was rounding. Roundind was used for to find the offier for the players. First you had to use rounding for roundin gto the nearest thousand.

Owl Pellet Dissection

The owl pellet dissection was so interesting. The snowy owl was the funnest of them all.The snowy owl's pellet was so big. I found a lot of bones in the pellet. One of the bones i assembled was a red squirrel and a bunch of rat bones. My favorite owl was the great horned owl. It's pellet was so fury and it was so cool doing the virtual owl pellet dissection. I learned that the snowy owl eats the most out of all of the  owls, I also did the barn owl that owl pellet was the smallest that I dissected so far, and the northern saw-whet owl there was only fur in that pellet. The northern hawk owl was the easiest of them all. That pellet had no skulls or lower jaw bones in it. This  finishes my blog about owl pellet dissection.

comparing pairs

Comparing pairs was a a little challenging, but I learned a little something about fractons. I learned that eight sixteenths is equal to one half.
