the box method

the box method was hard to understand.after a while i sort of got the hang of this method and it became the easeist method we have learned. i liked the box method because i can do the problems faster now that Ms.D explained it more clearly.

commutative and associative

commutative and associative is mostly like identifing the missing numbers.they both have close-to-the-same definitions.an example for associative=12+(3+4)=12+(N+4),the missing number is 3.

book review

my favorite part is when they are aboard the S.S. Liberty going to america. they face many hard ships when on the ship.things like over crowding and noise. they do not get much food either.they soon figure out that it is harder in america than on the ship.

simpliest form

Embarassed to use simplest form you list out factors of the numerator and denomenator and find the greatest common factor (GCF) then divide the GCF to get the new numerator and the new denomonator example;6/8=3/4

deal or no deal

In the second round of deal or no deal I was one of the players .one math skill we used was rounding. Also the class used multiplication and percentage. Playing deal or no deal in class is easy. Deal or no deal is math-related because the bankers calculated the offer by taking the numbers left in the game and adding them, then dividing the sum by the number of amounts left in the game. for Example, if 5,10,75,100,200,500,1,000,75,000,and 1,000,000 was left in the game you would add them and get the sum. Then divide that by 9.  The players found the fraction for the amounts left in the game they also found out the probability of winning the million dollars. the players then simplify the fraction.

limiting factors

would decrease also and if there was to much food and the population would increase. the 4 limiting factors are,                            -water, food, space, and shelter. if a drought came through a forest for example, the animals living there would run out of water.if there was a decrease in food, the animals would die of starvation.but if there was a decrease in shelter, all of the animal would not have homes, all though if there was a forest fire it would couse the decrease in shelter and space.if those things happened the animal populationCrySurprised   Frown
